Lady Lions soccer hopes to build on the success of  of their district title and 15-12 mark from a very impressive 2016 campaign.

 

Senior Emily Hanewinkel, one of the top performers from last years team with 12 goals 5 assists and 4 game winning goals said, “I plan on improving my clutch ability but at the defensive position this year.”.

 

Hanewinkel is converting from forward on offense  to full back on defense following the departure of graduating Class of 2016 seniors.

Starting goalie junior Olivia Berry collected 120 saves two solo shutouts in 2016.

 

Berry said, “ Our goal for this year is to win districts again.”

 

As a freshman last year, Megan Pemberton breakout 2016 season with 9 goals and 9 assists in only 12 games, but her season was cut short due to injury.

 

The sophomore Pemberton said, “I think the chemistry between all of my teammates is better this year than last year because we are all closer to the same age.”
In 2017, The Lady Lions are 6-4 through April 4, and if they stay healthy and improve as a team they will enhance their odds at more district success
